History

End of the 80-ies
The development of emap sound analysis began in the late 1980s.
If Bártok had had a Laptop...
In 1991, a Portable Digital Workstation in High Fidelity was presented at the 31st World Conference of the International Council for Traditional Music (ICTM) in Hong Kong. This portable device consisted of a laptop with a DSP card and a studio-quality DAT recorder. With this portable equipment, it was possible to carry out sound analysis directly during field research.

From DOS to Windows
In 1997, the Emap sound analysis was modified to 9x/NT for hardware compatibility and with a lot of new features. The Emap sound analysis runs in many music departments and studios around the world.
